Blac Chyna v. Kardashians

Updated: Apr 22, 2022

The lawsuit filed against the Kardashians by Blac Chyna has commenced.

Blac Chyna the former girlfriend of Rob Kardashian filed a lawsuit against Rob Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashain, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner for over $100,000 million. This lawsuit was filed 4 years ago following her break up with Rob Kardashian and at the same time saw their own tv show "Rob & Chyna" cease to air.

The lawsuit has a long list of causes of action including; assault, battery, distribution of private materials, domestic violence, harassment, intrusion of privacy, defamation, libel, interference with contractual relations, economic relations, breach of contract, intentional infliction of emotional distress and unfair business practices.

There are two main causes of action in this case; (i) "Revenge Porn" when Rob Kardashian distributed naked photos of Blac Chyna on social media following their break-up after which Instagram subsequently removed him from the platform for a period of time. He claims that she gave him permission to share these photos with others at the time he received them and there was no malice.

(ii) the failure of their tv show "Rob & Chyna" was ultimately killed off by the Kardashains rival tv show "Keeping up with the Kardashians" which affected her ability to earn the income she was predicted to earn had the show been aired for the full term.

The other causes of action relate to Blac Chyna's feelings towards the Kardashians and their influence over her tv show and interference with her relationship which she claims ultimately caused the break-up between her and Rob Kardashian.

This lawsuit is another case of high profile celebrities who will have to flesh out in a courtroom the details of their off-screen personal lives.
